The first time I went to Carmen Jones, I didn't want to get the baba ganoush because I don't care for eggplant, but a friend said we had to. Before I even finished biting through my first bite of baba ganoush on bread I knew it was one of the best things I had ever tasted. It's silky and flavoursome and I lick the plate clean every time. For me it's a standout dish on Karangahape Road and it is something that everyone needs to try.
