Ikan bakar jimbaran is so special because if you eat it in Bali, you can be sure the fish was caught that morning, it will taste smoky spicy and amazing, and you would eat it next to the beach and hopefully during sunset. I would feel so lucky to be able to repeat that experience now. The dish that Bali Nights serves is missing the scenery and the beach but the amazing taste is there. It invokes nostalgia at a time before the world changed. Besides, where else can you get smoky grilled spicy fish in Auckland?
