I'm nominating this dish because it's responsible for turning me into a donut fan. K Road's Sneaky Snacky has a cult following for their outrageous glazed donut burger, so it's a genius move to create a spinoff store dedicated to donuts. I went on a donut streak buying this specific one every week for a couple of months. It has the ultimate trifecta of perfect pastry, velvety dark chocolate and a subtle floral balance of earl grey. The owner also mentioned that he puts one of these donuts aside for himself everyday. I love that this is a local owner-operator store that represents the innovative, playful and sweet-hearted nature of Auckland city.
